I believe that children inherently are good and naturally want to do good. Unfortunately, many children are born into situations where they are presented with challenges far beyond what any child should have to endure. Luckily, the SMCF serves as a beacon of light to help these young ones feel like they are special and they do belong. In my mind the recipe is simple - feeling that you are part of a community and staying active - what better therapy! This positive outlet allows for the children to discover their talents and develop the self-confidence that will carry them throughout their lives. "As a single parent of an only child, I was always concerned about her ensuring she was involved in group activities, team sports. Camps and sports were out of reach but money was tight. I happened on a place that subsidized camps for children and was able to send her. A number of years later I learned about SMCF and their Send a Kid to Camp program. As a recipient of a similar service, knowing how important summer camp is for children, and now having the means to give back I am happy to help with monetary donations as well as giving my time to help fundraising efforts."

Sudbury Charities Fund (Foundation) is proud to partner with Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation in making a difference in the lives of local underprivileged youth. Fundraising from the annual Festival of Lights at Science North, Delta Bingo and our Gourmet Dinner provide the means for children between the age of 5 and 14 to attend summer camps. We believe in the work done by Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation provides opportunities otherwise unattainable to these youth to engage in experiences which foster confidence, friendship and leadership; more importantly these camps allow the children to just be “kids”. We look forward to our continued partnership with SMCF, an organization dedicated to providing services and programming to local children and families requiring assistance.

By making a donation today, you are helping to support our three programs; Send-A-Kid To Camp, PLAY Program and Bursary Program. These programs help enrich the lives of marginalized children by providing them with the necessary funds to participate in recreational activities and plan for their future education.

Donate A Car
Donate a Car Canada accepts vehicle donations for Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation it will either be recycled or re-sold (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for the Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation to benefit. You will receive a tax receipt after your donation has been processed!
